1. The top sketch book page portrays a cell structure of dopamine, the brain sample on the left hand-side shows a healthy transmission of dopamine and to the right-hand side of the page is a cell structure that lacks dopamine and is commonly found in patients with Parkinson's disease. The idea is generated from the concept of mental and chemical transformation.

2. The page on the bottom left is an illustration of a vampire squid cephalopod using graphite, to the right is a hand-stitched sample of a veined cephalopod skin with coloured ink. Both of the sketch book pages illustrate the transformation that occurs in cephalopods during a heightened emotional state this causes them to change surface area and colour.
